Smoked Shotgun Shells



Transform ordinary shotgun shells into a smoky sensation with this Smoked Shotgun Shells recipe. The combination of a savory dry rub and a tangy basting sauce creates a mouthwatering flavor that will delight BBQ enthusiasts.

Ingredients:

  • 12 shotgun shells, cleaned and dried
  • 1 cup BBQ rub
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Wood chips for smoking

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine BBQ rub, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create a dry rub

Coat each shotgun shell evenly with the dry rub mixture, ensuring full coverage

In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar to create a basting sauce

Preheat your smoker to 225F 107C using your choice of wood chips for smoking

Place the seasoned shotgun shells on the smoker grate, leaving space between each shell

Smoke the shells for approximately 1

5 to 2 hours or until they achieve a rich, smoky flavor

Baste the shells with the prepared sauce every 30 minutes during the smoking process
